I've been reading (ok, listening to) "Anything you want" by Derek Sivers and he said something which really resonated with me.
It was this:
Are you helping your customers?
Are they happy?
Are you happy?
Are you profitable?
If you can answer yes to all four, then what more do you really need?
I'm all for optimising results and maximising potential. In fact, I make a living from doing that. But sometimes we put ourselves under too much pressure to wring every last drop of value out of every single variable.
Excellence is good enough. Forget perfection.
