Mission aborted

It’s traditional for organizations to create a mission statement.

Unfortunately, most companies don’t define what that means and default to something along the lines of: “Our mission is to create the most innovative products in market xyz for the benefit of abc.” Which is meaningless and doesn’t engage anyone inside or outside the company.

A mission is about defining the difference you or your business wants to make in the world.

Microsoft’s original mission was to put a computer on every desktop. That’s world changing. And it worked out pretty well for them – and for us.

Revisit your company’s real mission today – and make sure it actually is one.
